On the 18th of January 2024, Medistri accreditation application has been accepted. Medistri’s sterilization plant is the first to obtain the ISO 14001 certificate.

The reports and certificates issued under an accreditation and which are also recognized abroad within the framework of international agreements supports Medistri’s commitment to the environmental impact of your activities and our environmental policy.

This achievement will be a great benefit for our customers in the MedTech and Pharmaceutical Industry - and will create more sustainable and environmentally friendly supply chains and products.

ISO 14001 is a voluntarily applied international standard aimed at implementing an Environmental Management System within companies and organisations of all sizes, and in all business sectors. It is part of the ISO 14000 international standards framework (ISO 14000, ISO 14001 and ISO 14004, etc.), which apply to all environmental management. The ISO 14001 standard defines specific requirements for an environmental management system (EMS) enabling an organisation to:

  • Determine its significant environmental impacts.
  • Develop an environmental policy.
  • Establish objectives.
  • Take regulatory requirements into account.
  • Establish processes enabling it to comply with the commitments expressed in this environmental policy.
  • Take the necessary actions to increase its environmental performance.

It is fully integrated into the EMAS application (“Eco Management and Audit Scheme”), or SMEA in French (Système de Management Environnemental et d’Audit), created in 1993 by the European Union to provide a framework for voluntary eco-management approaches using an environmental management system (EMS).

ISO 14001 certification is intended for any public or private organisation, regardless of its size or sector of activity, wishing to control and reduce its environmental impact.

👉 The validity period of ISO 14001 certification: Environmental Management System is 3 years, subject to annual monitoring audits.

Renewal of the certification requires a renewal audit, which is performed by a different auditor and which aims to confirm that there is no major non-conformity with the requirements of the ISO 14001 standard.

This milestone is a symbol of Medistri’s innovation and ambition that will result on the following advantages:

  • Identification of the environmental aspects of Medistri activities and services.
  • Reduction of pollution.
  • Compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Transparent communication with the community, clients and partners.
